Preserving Nature, Enhancing Community

Although I am no longer running to become your commissioner for district 4, my dedication to our parks remains unwavering. I believe deeply in the countless ways that our parks enrich our lives and strengthen our communities. I remain committed to supporting and advocating for the preservation and enhancement of these spaces for current and future generations.

Hi, I’m Jody!

I love Minneapolis, and I love our park system. Nearly 15 years ago I moved to this vibrant city, and since then have called Elliot Park, Downtown, and now Bryn Mawr home. It was here that I became a year-round commuter cyclist and developed a taste for summer swims and winter cold plunges in the same lakes. I've experienced so much beauty hiking, running, and cycling along our trail systems, and found boundless camaraderie with both my human and canine friends at our dog parks.

I never take for granted the excellence of our park system. It’s the result of dedicated, selfless public servants and an engaged community working together to protect, preserve, and enhance these shared spaces. Over the years I’ve taken a hands-on approach through year-round trail maintenance, invasive species removal and (constantly) removing litter from our parks and waterways.

Along the way I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many of you who share a deep passion for our parks, and I’m absolutely committed to ensuring your voices are heard as we continue working to keep our park system the best in the nation!

My Vision

1) Expand the urban tree canopy and increase the resources for the removal of invasive plant species.

2) Prioritize the cleanup of our parks and waterways, focusing on the removal of trash, debris, and illegal dumping.

3) Collaborate with key stakeholders to restore and enhance access to the cross-country skiing and hiking trails in Theodore Wirth Regional Park, which have been impacted by recent development.

4) Ensure Minneapolis Park Police are fully equipped and supported to effectively safeguard the well-being of park goers.

5) Improve access to high quality, reliable restrooms for all park users.
